When I was a kid, my parents for fun took me, an only child, to open houses weekend after weekend. My mom was always dreaming of her next new home and her dreams and wishes wore off on me as we walked though house after house with real estate agents. I’d come home with new construction floor plan flyers and then start drawing floor plans of my future dream homes. As I grew up and navigated my chosen career I always kept the dream of being an agent myself someday in the back of my mind.
My first career was human resources and my last HR role prior to becoming an agent was as an HR Manager/Diversity Manager at Microsoft for 11 years. I’m a true local having also enjoyed great HR careers at Starbucks and Eddie Bauer prior to that. I’ve been a highly successful agent at Windermere and Redfin with nearly 200 lifetime closings and am a technology aficionado! I believe my extensive people experience and negotiation of complex human situations uniquely positions me to handle all sides of a real estate transaction with grace and with a win-win approach.
I started my real estate career in 2011 during the banking crisis/short sale/foreclosure crisis. I learned real estate the hard way when families were losing or walking away from their homes and stressed about their financial challenges ahead. But that experience set me up for understanding real estate deeply, during the worst of times, and truly connecting with the real-life reasons people buy and sell homes. I have lived pretty much everywhere in the Puget Sound area now - Bellevue, Seattle, Redmond, Monroe, Snohomish, Sultan and there was a time before all my careers I was dirt broke, so, like my parents I started going to open houses for entertainment - hey, it was FREE! and what ensured was a PASSION for real estate both in terms of architecture appreciation but also in terms of really learning personally the journey from a person/family renting to the pride of home ownership. That's what happened at least for me when my agent helped us buy our first home after years of being broke - it transformed me!
My experience includes helping buyers and sellers with: Condominiums, single family homes, rentals, vacant land, new construction, and investors. In the past 8 years I’ve closed nearly 200 homes from Issaquah to Stanwood, Seattle to Index. Having lived in the area (Bellevue, Redmond, Seattle, Monroe, Snohomish) for the past 30 years I know so many geographies very well. In fact, during my late 20’s when I was living on a shoestring, I too started touring open houses for fun and all that driving around and looking at homes helped me know some neighborhoods in a way I couldn’t have otherwise.
I’m also an accredited stager and can augment your existing décor to help you get the most for your home as well as provide contractors, cleaning and organizing advice and much more. Staging and organizing is a true passion area of mine - I love design! - and I keep a small inventory to help your home shine!
I hold three master’s degrees, one in Organizational/System Change and two in Creative Writing (nonfiction/poetry) and a BA in Psychology. I love gardens, books, travel and cats. My teenage sons keep me on my toes.
Buying or selling a home is a milestone experience for most people and I will take you through it every step of the way. I pride myself on my communication and the project-management know how it takes to make your experience is a great one! Contact me for an easy, no-obligation conversation!
